Erlangshen here. I am continuing my tutorial as well as progress of scratch-building SD Hyper Bazooka for shared-use between SD Duel and SD Astray Gold Frame.
The first part can be veiwed here: http://www.gundammodelkits.com/wipsd-hyper-bazooka-part-1.html
Step 18: Cut a similar piece of 2x2 square pla beam like in step 17 but make sure 1 end is slanted and glue it in the position indicated by the picture above. Then cut 0.4 mm pla plate in the shapes shown in the pictures. Make 2 of each. Let’s call the left one Part A and the right one Part B.
Step 20: Cut 3 pieces of 2x2 square pla beam with the length indicated by the picture and stack and glue them in the position indicated by the picture.
Step 22: Cut 5mm hollow round pla beam that you used earlier around the length of the space between part A and Part B in the bazooka.
Step 23: Glue the round pla beam you just cut in step 22 in the position indicated by the picture.
Step 25: Drill both plates with 4 3mm holes roughly in the same straight line as indicated by the picture
Step 27: The result should be like the picture above. Now cut these pieces in half.
Step 29: Glue the pieces on both side as indicated by the picture. Make sure it is protruding a bit on the top so there is a bit of a gap in the middle.
Step 30: Cut 2 pieces of pla plate for each shape marked yellow in the picture above.
Step 31: Add Epoxy Putty to the 2 triangle parts and also put some on the back of the bazooka in the shape and position suggested by the picture above.
Step 33: Add more epoxy putty near the parts you glued in step 32 in the shape suggested by the picture
Step 35: Cut 2 rectangle pla plate (size: 0.5 inches x 1.2 cm) Cut 2 pieces of 2x2 square pla beam with 1.2 cm length.
Step 36: Glue the pla beam on the 1.2 cm edge. Cut 2 more 2x2 square pla beam with the length exactly as the width of the previous glued pla-beams. Glue this to the 0.5 inches side of the rectangle pla plate as suggested by the picture.
Step 37: Glue the other pla plate on top of this part.
Step 39: Cut 3 pieces of 1x1mm square pla beam with length of 0.8 cm and glue it in the positions suggested by the picture (roughly of equal distance to each other).
Step 41: Glue all 6 pieces in the position suggested by the picture above.
Step 42: Cut 1 piece of 2x2 square pla beam with the lenth suggsted by the picture above. Make sure one side is slanted and the angle of the slant matches the angle of the parts we created on step 41.
Step 43: Glue the parts we created on step 41 into the bazooka.
Result of step 30-43
After the above steps, we need to primer the result with Mr. Surfacer. I recommedn we first use 500 to cover scratches that may have happen during the building phase. It will also made any imperfection more visible so you can still rectify it.
After the primer is dry, you can smooth out any surface with a fine sand paper (grid 2000). Make sure there were no danglight excess and everything is as good as it can be before proceeding to primer it again with Mr. Surfacer 2000.
Congratulations! You just scratch-build your bazooka!
