Erlangshen here. It’s golden week in China, celebrating the founding of its nation with a 1 week holiday and I decided to stock up on some mod parts and buy a new set of brushes.
The mod parts from Kotobukiya is crucial in my attempt to provide better articulation to SD Loto and also to further accessories SD Gelgomesh.
The main reason is also that I found out the mod part I bought with the SD Kshatriya (the mod part on the right) might be too big for SD Loto’s feet, so I tried to find a smaller part that would fit better and the only thing I could find is a set of PC parts on the left. It is very awesome as I could use some of those parts on Gelgomesh as well.
Besides this, I also bought 2 types of nozzles, regular round ones and rectangular vewnier ones to accessories SD Gelgomesh later on.
But I digress. let me explain a bit of what I am doing on SD Loto.
You can see that the legs, thigh and feet are 1 piece. this mean, there is a very limited pose-ability. So I decided to cut them all to pieces, starting with the feet. I contemplated to use the existing cut off pieces, but figure it might be too small to accommodate the joint parts, so i decided to scratch build the feet part.
I started with the bottom feet, create a sort of pattern, then started to add the thickness with some pla beams. As I add pla beams, I started to realize that there might not be enough space to use the earlier ball joint I mention, so I need to look for other ball joints, preferably of a smaller size.
As you can see the left one is the original mod part I bought. In the new one, tehre are several size, even very small ones indicated in the green circle.
I used this part for the ball joint of the feet and this is the result:

I am skipping a bit. I also started to remove the static feet part.
Hopefully, you started to get what i am trying to do can imagine how good this SD Loto would be….
